February 9, 2010 6:15pm – Jones Hall

Opening: Greg opened with devotion and prayer at 6:15 pm

Items for Session:

Move for High School Youth Garage Sale fundraisers to be approved for the March 13 for purpose of acquiring funds for the summer mission trips.
Move for the High School & Mid-School youth to be transported in order to deliver the “Souper Bowl Sunday” collected food and monies to the Gospel Rescue Mission on Feb 24^th.

Review and Approval of last meeting Minutes:

January Minutes accepted as submitted.

Ministry Team Reports:

Budget:

Communicate to Michelle about a change in format of budgets for CE budgeted monies and designated funds. The new format will aid in financial decisions.

Sunday School and Church Classes:

Adult Sunday school is continuing with Blaine Goss and Dick Dale. Women Studies class is looking for topics or interest for a new study. Children Sunday School numbers continue to stay consistent. Looking to add attendance numbers for youth ministry.

Youth:

The new year started off with a youth service project of “Souper Bowl Sunday” with a collection of 80cans of food and donations of $300 to be delivered to the Gospel Rescue Mission. Twenty people participated in the High School Youth Ski trip which included exciting times and bible study. The youth will be preparing and serving lunch for the Elder’s Retreat. The youth will also be serving lunch to the congregation for the church luncheon’s annual meeting. Currently, the youth are studying the book of Revelation.

Programming:

Salt and Light:

Numbers at S&L are looking great and contribution monies are coming in to cover expenses. The S&L youth will be singing in church during the Ash Wednesday service and on Feb 21. S&L is always looking for more volunteers and inviting anyone to come and share in the Wednesday night meal as a church family.

Vacation Bible School:

Dates for VBS this summer will be the second week of June; 6/14 – 6/18. Curriculum selection has been narrowed to 3 different sources. Planning is still in process.

Old Business:

Looking for more ways to promote the Discipleship Project.

New Business:

Two types of Lenten devotionals have been ordered. One devotional is for an individual and the other is for the family.

CE will be looking for a volunteer to help organize and assist in the library.

Closing: The meeting was closed with prayer at 7:45pm.
