Items for Session:
Last Meetings Minutes: Minutes were reviewed and approved.
Budget Report:
During the formation of the budget, items deemed necessary were cut or have been missed. A list of budgetary items will be complied for the use when setting next year’s budget.
Sunday School and Church School:
During the Easter service, no elementary video class will be held. There will still be nursery care and preschool classes available during the Easter service. During the summer, preschool and elementary Sunday school classes will be separate instead of having a multiage Sunday school class. Adult class numbers are staying consistent.
Youth:
February has been busy and Mark is proud of all the work the youth have done. The youth participated in the sub-sale with prep work for selling and serving the subs after church. The mid-school youth delivered the donations from the Souper Bowl to the Gospel Rescue Mission and wanted to go back and learn some more about the mission. The youth also served the congregation at the enchilada luncheon during its annual meeting. They are also getting ready for the annual garage sale to raise funds for the youth ministry expenses.
The high school youth will be learning lessons about the culture/world they live in, how it affects who we are and what we think and comparing it to the Bible and what it says how we should be living our lives. The mid-school youth will be learning lessons dealing with respect and how we treat others before going into lessons dealing with culture.
Special Programs:
Salt and Light:
During spring break, Wednesday March 24, there will be no S&L. On March 28, Palm Sunday, S&L youth will sing in church. All children will be given the opportunity to wave palms during a processional on Palm Sunday. The last S&L, April 14, will be a tailgate party with food and fun activities. Everyone is welcome! The following Sunday will be the S&L Luncheon Musical after the church service.
VBS (Vacation Bible School):
VBS will be taking place June 14-18. The theme will be “County Fair” from Gospel Light. The planning stages are in process for volunteers.
Old Business:
Discipleship Project:
Looking to celebrate the accomplishments of the participation of the Discipleship Project this spring. The celebration will be after church during fellowship time. During this time continue and encourage further participation.
