Retrospective Reports:
Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner and ministry team
buildup: Attendance was 46 people, including CLO team. Appropriate amounts
of food to serve for this level of attendance is the following: 6 lbs bacon,
6 lbs sausage, ˝ gallon milk, ˝ gallon orange juice, ˝ gallon cranberry
juice, 1 gallon fruit juice, 64 oz maple syrup, 64 oz strawberry syrup.
Unused and unopened pancake mix can be returned and it was also found that
Krusteaz will reimburse 50% of the cost of the pancake mix. Cooking was
started at 3:15, which was about right for a 5:30 serving time. Ministry
team recruitment is uncertain as a result of this event, but appeared to be
light. As a follow-up to the goal of ministry team buildup, CLO is
requesting a short one page synopsis of each ministry’s team activities, to
be gathered in a small booklet and given to new members to help them decide
where they are best suited to serve.
Advertising: Nora’s write-ups of Ash Wednesday services
were successfully printed in both the Sun News and Bulletin. Nora will also
work with Rev Hawkins on a Spanish/English news release for Pueblo Iglesias.
Finally, Nora intends to write a news release regarding the Blanket Ministry
and Mobile Food Ministry.
Upcoming Events:
St. Patrick’s Day potluck, Mar 17: Time was set for
right after worship. Nora will shop for decorations. Nora will advertise.
Easter Services: Nora will have banners made to
advertise Easter Services: Sunrise Service time and Morning Worship Time.
Graduation/mother’s day: Feedback from Mark is that the
devotional guides given last year were well-liked gifts. Therefore, the team
decided to give the same thing this year.
New business:
CLO kitchen responsibilities: CLO will develop a
magnetic placard of guidelines that can be posted wherever needed in the
kitchen.
Website: The team discussed the website following a
request from Alex Burr. The team decided to check to see if the web address
is appropriately publicized on other church publications.
