June minutes were approved.

Pastor’s Remarks:

Discussion of decision for our church to remain in the Sierra Blanca Presbytery.

Moderator’s Remarks:

Vehicle problems have been taken care of at this time. Rusty and David have been working on fixing the van and bus. New sign for van is still needed.

Socks and Undies program for the Gospel Rescue Mission was a great success.

34 Backpacks filled with school supplies were donated by the congregation.

Local Missions

  1. Don Behnke reported that food pantry distributed 4250 pounds of food to 90 families, and next month will increase to 100 families with 5000 pounds of groceries.
  2. There is a crucial need for mattresses and bedding in our community. A motion was made by David Medina and seconded by Mike Bartholomew to support a “Mattress Ministry”. The Re-Store will provide transportation for any mattresses and bedding donated by congregation members to the church to be distributed to those in need.
  3. Hamburger Fry

There was discussion regarding the Las Cruces Cares event, and it was decided not to combine it with the annual Hamburger Fry. Rusty will ask the Session for permission to host the Las Cruces Cares event again this year and seek their input on when to hold it.

The meeting was adjourned with the Mizpah Benediction.

Next meeting will be held on September 21, 7 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Winnie Quinzi
