Approval of the minutes for June

Old Business

Working on the updating Mission Book was moved to next month due to the meeting agenda for this month.

Norm requested that he wanted form the mission committee a document defining what our committee dose and this document was approved to send to the August Session meeting. See page 2

New Business

David Sallee came to the committee to talk about the creation of a task force of interested people who are working with Bridge that would work with the Mission Committee. This Task force could work with the Presbytery task force when it’s up and running. The Mission Committee task force will work under the Mission Committee and will keep the Session informed on how things are progressing with keeping the campus ministry.

The committee began discussion on how to reallocate the Cristo Rey Outreach funds since this organization is no longer in existents. The Deacons felt that we might use these funds to help Iglesias de Pueblo with purchasing of food for their food giveaway, Will continue this discussion next month.

THE ROLL OF THE MISSION COMMITTEE:

· To be a strong advocate for mission Programs.

· To keep the congregation informed of the local and foreign mission that we do support.

· To keep contact with foreign missions/missionaries.

· To arrange and support foreign missions visits to the church.

· Evaluate request for support from people and organizations.

· To make sure that the mission funds are used as intended

· Coordinate with Deacons to assist in supporting of local missions.

· Updating the Mission Book in the pews.

· To provide Lantern article’s for the quarterly donation drives of PCUSA every year.

· Write articles about missions for the Lantern

· Use the “minute for mission” update the congregation on mission programs
