MISSIONS COMMITTEE MINUTES

August 12, 2014

 

Members present: Jacqui Jones, Moderator, Mike Bartholomew, Blaine Goss

Absent: Collette Walz, Jean O'Neill

 Opening prayer was given by Blaine Goss

 Minutes of previous 3 months were not available.  They will be approved at the September meeting, 

 Correspondence was distributed and discussed.  Blaine agreed to be responsible for posting information on the Missions Bulletin Board.

 Jacqui will send an e-mail to the Barrons to thank them for the card sent to the Missions Committee. A note will be sent to the Pontiers acknowledging receipt of the graduation announcement and congratulating their daughter Brianna from Rift Valley Academy, in Kijabe, Kenya and news in their Newsletter of her acceptance at  John Brown University in Arkansas.  

 Financial Reports 

 Reports were gone over in detail.  It was suggested that the column titles on the Missions Committee Expense Report columns should be edited for clarification. Arrangements will be made to have the Missions Designated Funds money be distributed to the appropriate sources. The committee agreed that this money needed to be moved out of the accounts.  

 Old Business:  Jacqui agreed to write an article for the Lantern about our missionaries in the field, and hopefully this may encourage the congregation to send words of encouragement.

 New Business:  None
