Missions Committee Minutes

October 14. 2014

 

Present: Jacqui Jones, Alex Burr, Blaine Goss, Michael Bartholomew, Collette Walz, Jean O'Neil

The meeting was opened at 7:05 p.m. with prayer by Alex Burr.

 The Mission minutes from September 9 were approved,

 Correspondence from various missionaries was discussed. Incoming correspondence was distributed and after discussion. Blaine Goss will post documents to the Missions Bulletin Board in the hallway and remove outdated correspondence.

Financial Reports were reviewed. It was decided to correct the error in the Harveys location from Singapore to Oxford on the Missions Committee
Expense Report. Blaine will follow up on recommended changes.

 It was decided not to distribute any monies from the discretionary funds to two of our missionaries until we find out if there is a further need.

 Old Business

More details regarding the missionary visit from the Harveys near the end of November will be forthcoming. Blaine will finalize the details with them and inform the Committee and Pastor Norm. A notice will be posted in the church Bulletin of a need for a host for the Harveys during their visit.

 New Business

 Collette was thanked for her informative announcement to the congregation about the Peacemaking Offering taken earlier in the month.

 It was decided to discuss the Budget for 2015 at the Committee meeting on November 11, 2014.
