Missions Committee Minutes

May 12, 2015

Present: Alex Burr, Carol Goss, Collette Walz, Kathleen Marlowe, Blaine Goss

After opening with prayer, we reviewed the expense report for April 2015, and the designated funds report. The One Great Hour of Sharing offering was successful with the congregation donating nearly $5,000 this year. The new budget line for Iglesia was included.

Next we reviewed the material for the upcoming Pentecost offering. 60% of the donations will be sent to PCUSA and 40% will remain here for our use. The committee decided to dedicate our part for FPC youth programs. Blaine will give the Minute for Missions for the Pentecost offering this upcoming Sunday.

We reviewed the recent letter from the Haspels who are retiring from their missionary duties in Ethiopia at the end of June this year. The committee considered the impact of this change on our budget. We will suspend sending monthly support for the Haspels in July. We also agreed to review our entire budget next fall before making any midyear changes/additions/deletions.

There will be no Missions committee meeting in June 2015.
