FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.), LAS CRUCES, NM

CALLED SESSION MEETING

AUGUST 23, 2009

The called session meeting met in Rev. Story’s office on Sunday, August 23, 2009 immediately after service. The meeting was called to receive Alison Bass Hammond and K. Naoma Staley into the membership of the First Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Las Cruces, NM.

 Elders present were Bill Brady, Gena Breck, Alex Burr, Larry Felhauer, Blaine Goss, Florence Hamilton, Wayne Maley, Jacque Parks, Joan Rawson, Greg Temple, and Marsha Topley.

 Rev. Story opened the meeting at 11:47 AM with prayer and had the elders introduce themselves. Then Ms. Hammond and Ms. Staley shared their personal experiences and Ms. Hammond said she would be joining by Letter of Transfer from Sonoma Springs Presbyterian Church, Las Cruces, NM. and Ms. Staley said she would be joining by Letter of Transfer from Littlerock Community Presbyterian Church, Littlerock, California. The clerk of session read Section G-5.0102, Membership as Ministry from the Book of Order. The elders voted to receive and welcome Alison and Naoma into the Church’s membership. They will be presented to the congregation on August 30, 2009.

 The meeting was adjourned with prayer at 12:00 noon.
