Official Rules and Regulations

The official rules and regulations of the South West Kickboxing Association and must govern all SWKA sanctioned events. These rules and regulations shall be enforced by the representatives of the SWKA. These rules and regulations are the property of the SWKA and the use of such rules do not mean or should not imply that such an event is sanctioned by the SWKA. To attain the SWKA sanctioning, a properly signed sanction agreement must be submitted, which becomes a binding contract when signed by the promoter and the President of the SWKA. The promoter shall be required to use the name and logo of the SWKA on all print and media of the event.

• Battle of Champions:
The semi-main even included Abie Han from El Paso, Texas vs.Elton Valentin from Puerto Rico. These two gentlemen were fighting for the kickboxing middleweight title at 155 lbs, with Abie Han dominating all five rounds and winning by unanimous decision.
The main event included local Las Cruces kickboxer "Bad Boy" Derrick Lopez defending his lightweight title against David Mejias from Tucson, Arizona. This lightweight title fight was at 130 lbs, with Mejias taking the victory by split decision.
• 1st Annual Southwest Classic Invitational held in Las Cruces, NM. The event in mention was held on Sat. August 26th, 2006.
