Hi, my name is Carlton
Donaghe, and I am looking for a group of talented artists who would
like to work with me to create comics.
 |
In order to
show you what I can do and what kind of comics I want to do, I have put
together a proposal for Marvel Comics. Marvel doesn't look at unsolicited
proposals, and I'm not pretending this one is any different. Instead,
the point is to do this as a training exercise-- as a way for us to get
to know each other.
.
Instead of jumping right
into my rather ambitious plans, I thought I’d first try to find artists
who’d like to work on doing a proposal for a very specific vision of a
general-audience line of Marvel Comics. You can read the whole thing,
and if it looks interesting to you, and you like my style, then you’d probably
be interested in the sorts of things I’d want to do.
. |
 |
Putting together a professional-quality
"fantasy" comics proposal will give us a chance test-drive what I'd like
to turn into a long-lasting and mutually profitable relationship, to work
together on something just for fun before we do something serious.
If an artist were to quit halfway through a serious project, that would
be bad. If an artist quits on a project just for fun, it’s no big
deal. By doing this Marvel project first, we’ll find out who’s really
got the discipline and the desire to actually sit down and do comics. |
|
|
Hopefully, from
just looking at this site, you can see that I'm a goofy guy with a sense
of humor and like to have fun. Well, I've learned how to be a good
manager and make sure that things run smoothly. I'm looking forward
to taking this on, and I think I can make this an enjoyable experience
for you. |
