DSL
DSL is moderately high-speed Internet delivered over your phone line. This is a shared line service, meaning you can connect and talk on the same phone line at the same time. There is no loss of speed when you use the telephone. If you are currently paying for two phone lines, you may actually save money by ordering this service on your primary line, and canceling the second line. The DSL signal is provided by the telephone company and the Internet connection is through an ISP, like us. DSL generally takes up to one week from the date of order to the date your telco activates the service.
What will it all cost?
DSL Modem / Router - When you order this service you will need a DSL modem/router. These may be purchased from most places that sell computer networking hardware. Prices vary but normally run between $80.00 up to $150.00 depending on the functionality. If you have more than one computer to connect or want to use wireless, you should expect to pay more.
Activation Fees - Your telephone carrier may charge an activation fee to connect your phone line to DSL. Generally, they waive most of the fee and you pay about $10.00 for activation. There is no activation fee from La Tierra / ZiaNet / Spinn.net.
Bandwidth Costs - Check the table below for current costs from the telco (Century Link) and from Us.
