FAMILY REUNION PAGE
27 JUNE 2005
The Williams, Green, Sneed family reunion committees and other family members met on Sunday June 19th & Sunday June 26th. The meeting took place at Sunny Boy's (Leslie's) house. After a in-depth discussions it was concluded that, a one day event would be conducted at the South Warren Elementary School, approximately 7.5 miles from Greentown Avenue.
Saturday, August 20th
Part I
The proposed schedule for Saturday would begin at 10:00 am and conclude at 2:00 pm with a festive day of activities, games, sports and prizes. We will also cookout, with a menu consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers and side dishes.
Part II
The second part of the day will also be held at South Warren Elementary with a Banquet and program to begin at 6:00 pm and will conclude at 10:00 pm.
The program has not been finalized, however, other family members have recommended the following:
Talent show, fashion show, step dancing, praise dancing, gospel singing/presentations, and conclude with an all participant family meeting.
I would greatly appreciate feedback from you all that plan to attend. We would like to know what type of events you would like to see or things you would like to "spearhead" on this program. Janet will be sending out letters to everyone and we asked that you "Please" respond to confirm you participation in this year's events.
FEES/DUES: $100 per family $50 per individual deadline July 31st, 2005.
Family Reunion Committee - The family reunion committee was elected by everyone present during the summer of 2004 that consisted of:
Food Committee Chair: Susie M. Willliams
Entertainment/Activity Committee Chair: Joyce Alston-Williams
Facility Committee Chair: Leslie Fitzgerald Richardson
Secretary: Janet Roberts
Treasurer/Photographer: Roosevelt Alston, Jr.
Please know that we will elect or re-elect committee members again this year and we do ask that others from afar become more involved with family planning. .
Note: This year there was only one response from the information provided in the family newsletter and that was from Aunt Cora Williams or "Aunt Rene". (Thank You)
In conclusion, the family decided to take a family cruise in October, 2006.
The cruise information will be provided in the family reunion letter mailed to you this week by Janet Roberts, family secretary.
The cruise is a two day Carnival cruise to "Nowhere" that will embark from Norfolk, VA on Saturday, October 14th, with return on Monday, October 16th. All the family is excited about doing something different together and making it affordable for everyone to participate.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joyce Alston-Williams
