Rick Retires!

Rick Nanawa has retired effective June 1, 2012 after 35 years of Federal service!

Rick attended NMSU and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) in 1977. He returned to Guam to fulfill his obligation to his scholarship contract and worked for the U.S. Navy.

In 1978, Rick was recruited as an EE intern with Army Missile Test & Evaluation (ARMTE) at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. He spent 11 years working with ARMTE and later moved on to work for OTD, now known as Center for Countermeasures.  Rick worked as a field test engineer for both organizations and later became a Supervisory Engineer.

The best part of retirement is not having to commute to work!   Rick keeps busy with a "honey-do" list that is potentially endless -- yard work, house maintenance, rental property management and caring for our three dogs.

Occasionally, he enjoys cruising to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino in cool Ruidoso to invest his "chump" change at the Blackjack tables.

He attended the 40th Class Reunion for Father Duenas Memorial High School in Guam -- Class of 1972.  The U.S. "mainland" group met in Las Vegas, NV -- July 2012.   Festivities were shared "real time" via skype from Guam, USA.  He attended the 42nd Class Reunion in San Diego, CA the summer of 2014.

Rick has always enjoyed art and he recently tried his hand at oil painting . . .
