Morgan is using his empire to fight for his vision of the world... and to destroy Superman.  Lana is the mole within this operation.
Superman's greatest enemy is Lex Luthor-- billionaire businessman and criminal genius.  He hates Superman with a passion-- whom he views as a potential alien overlord of a world he himself is determined to dominate.
