Featuring the
adventures of Luke, Leia, and Han in the time between the first and second
movies, these strips are SF at its best. The strips have been reworked
to create a continuous story in a single graphic novel. Includes a new
introduction from Goodwin and new art from Williamson. |

Most people
know that all of the STAR WARS stuff that keeps coming out cannot possibly
measure up to the original movies. However, CLASSIC STAR WARS from comics
legends Goodwin and Williamson recaptures the joy of seeing STAR WARS for
the first time. The book reproduces the newspaper strips published between
1981 and 1984, but instead of merely reprinting the strips, the images
are arranged to be more suitable for the comic book page. The result is
sometimes slow and repetitive, though that's easy to forget with the gorgeous
art and fun story. |

There is no
peace for the crew of the Millennium Falcon between STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE

This is the
second volume of STAR WARS newspaper strips from the early 1980s reformatted
for the comic book page. The stories, which take place between the end
of STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE and the beginning of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK,
feel natural instead of forced like so many of the other STAR WARS spin-off
books. After the events in the previous volume, Luke, Han, and Leia find
their rebel base under attack. And so the search for a new home base begins. |
