The Adventures of Young Samson and Goliath
Like Birdman, Young Samson & Goliath are super-heroes on Earth in an unspecified future (that looks a lot like our present day).

I don't want the Earth of the future to be very futuristic.  In fact, I want it to look a lot like the 1960's in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.  Perhaps giving everything a kind of 'Star Trek' sixties funkiness, we can use that as the "style" of this future world.

In this story, young David (which I believe is the name of his alter-ego) and his faithful dog travel around the country, getting involved in different adventures.  Just like I don't want to get to explicit with Birdman's origin, I also don't want to ever really explain how it is a sixteen year-old boy and his dog are riding around the country with no visible means of support.

At its core, this is a story about a boy and his dog, out on the open road, living free and on their own.
I'd like young David to still ride around on his futuristic-looking bike.  It doesn't have to fly or anything, since it already looks pretty cool as it is.

You can see the 1960's style in David's clothes and his clean-cut appearance.  I'd like to keep that.  Even if the world he's in gets populated with people of all manner of shapes and styles and fashion-styles, I'd like to keep David the way he is.

Also, in the same way I'd like to get some juice out of the mythological origins of Birdman's powers, I'd like to expand Samson's world, too.  For instance, I'd like to give him a "sween sixteen" year-old female nemesis/love interest named Delilah.  He can't live with her and he can't live without her.  They don't see each other that often, but everytime she enters his life, she turns it upside down.

And I don't know if he ever used one in the cartoon, but I think David needs to have a slingshot (a modern, American one).  And he should also have a guitar.

A boy on the open road, riding his scooter, with his dog and his guitar.  Rick Jones couldn't have had better.

The one thing that does have to change is Samson's hairstyle.  I realize that it hearkens back to Prince Valiant, but that haircut has never been cool and it's the main thing that kept Samson from looking cool.  He's got to have long hair (he's Samson), but I'd rather it be something the girls would find "sexy."
As far as Young Samson's actual origin, I don't know if there is one.
Finally, since everyone lives in the same universe, I'd like to have a Teen Titans formed of the young heroes-- Young Samson & Goliath, Jan, Jace, & Blip, and Birdboy.  Maybe add Lilith and Mal.
Don't forget that one brown paw on Goliath!
